At Ginormous, we’ve been working with the latest in AI technology to build agents that truly work. We were frustrated by constant hype around failing tech demos and the lack of real-world applications of AI.

We knew that the underlying models had the sparks of intelligence, but whenever trying one of these agentic solutions, we were left with a feeling of disappointment. So we decided to change that.

Whenever I’m asked to explain the project as a whole, I usually state, “we’re building the most free expression of AI”.

What do I mean by that?

At Ginormous, we let the agents fully express themselves. We give each agent root access to a virtual machine (i.e. it has its own computer where it has full access). We let it connect to the internet, and we let it code tools for itself to use natively. We let the agent build and update its own workspace in order to best do its job.

This, while seemingly a small distinction, is a fundamental shift in how we think about AI. Let agents use their intelligence for their own benefit. These agents are far more than just a fancy search engine, or bursts of intelligence factored into the template of a workflow.
